Vocabulary exam

Hi Year 7,

Just to pre-warn you, next lesson you will be sitting a short vocabulary test based on the vocab from chapter 1, 2 and 3. There are quizlet lists but you should also be re-reading those chapters to double check you know all the vocabulary.

You will be expected to know the vocabulary, definitions and correct spellings.

This exam will take place:
7A - Tuesday 15:30 (You will have an extra 30 mins lesson time to prepare on the day)
7B - Wednesday 9:30
7C - Wednesday 16:00
7D - Wednesday 8:30

Criterion B

This exam will test your ability to read and understand a piece of writing. It will include one reading extract and a number of comprehension questions. You will be asked to pick out obvious information, but also to work things out for yourself (like a detective!) so it's important you practice and are prepared.

Top tips 

• Before you look at the questions, make sure you have read the extract carefully. Even if you don't understand every word, you should have a general understanding.  

• Make sure you find and highlight the information in the text before answering a question. 

• Answer all the questions. If you're not sure of an answer and you really can't work it out, make your best guess.
